Before I started these brownies I wanted to know if my dad remembered them at all since it was his mom that created the recipe. He said he did remember the brownies and he loved eating them. His mom would make them thin and crispy. For me, I prefer my brownies to be thick and chewy. These brownies definitely turned out to be very delicious.
I wanted to make this recipe because it looked really easy and had simple ingredients that we already had on hand. I had a lot fun making it and they turned out to be so yummy. These go great with vanilla ice cream! They are more on the chewy side than the cakey side.
I followed the recipe exactly and the batter filled up an 8 by 8 square pan nicely. I baked the brownies for about 20 minutes until they got nice golden-brown color on top. For the nuts, I used pecans!
I hope you have success making these brownies as I did. Super simple. Super easy. Definitely a crowd pleaser.
