Beginner Cinnamon Roll

Beginner Cinnamon Roll

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 2 pkgs. yeast
  • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
  • 3-3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1-1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 tbsp milk

Instructions

    Let yeast dissolve in warm water for 15 minutes. Add cake mix and flour. Mix until the dough becomes sticky. Let rise until it becomes double in size. Generously flour clean surface and rolling pin. Knead the dough with flour until it is no longer sticky. Roll out the dough in a rectangular shape starting from the center. Cover the entire surface with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Roll the dough horizontally. Slice using a piece of dental floss or string. Place the string under the roll then take both ends of the floss and cross them down until the roll is cut all the way through. Place roll in pan with melted margarine and brown sugar on bottom. Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown on the top.

    For the glaze:

    Combine powdered sugar, melted butter, vanilla and milk in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Pour over warm rolls and spread.
